ARIZONA LEND 2025 -2026
The University of Arizona Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities Training Program
I was selected as a trainee for ArizonaLEND (Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities) at the University of Arizona, Department of Pediatrics, College of Medicine, for the 2025–2026 academic year.

ArizonaLEND is a federally funded program that prepares future leaders to work in the field of autism and other neurodevelopmental and related disabilities. The program emphasizes leadership development, interprofessional practice, collaborative work, and interdisciplinary training to create change in health care, education, and community systems.

My interest in ArizonaLEND is directly connected to my work in inclusive education. This opportunity will allow me to deepen my understanding of the challenges faced by children with disabilities, particularly in Mozambique, where I have observed many barriers, and to explore possible solutions. It will also help me strengthen my leadership skills, engage in interdisciplinary teamwork, and connect global perspectives with my ongoing research and advocacy.
