 In-service training programs/workshop

Through my Inclusive Voices project, I have designed and facilitated workshops that demonstrate how educational media can be a tool for disability advocacy and inclusive education. These sessions are grounded in my podcast and video series, where I create a platform for dialogue, leadership, and opportunity-sharing with youth, educators, and persons with disabilities in Mozambique and beyond.

My Story

Objectives

  • Share experiences from Inclusive Voices to show how media can open spaces for honest conversations about disability rights and inclusion.

  • Provide strategies to use digital tools (podcasts, webinars, social media) to highlight inclusive practices in local contexts.

  • Create a collaborative environment where educators, families, and community leaders discuss challenges and opportunities related to disability inclusion.

  • Encourage participants to see media as a space for leadership development, advocacy, and policy influence.

Structure

  1. Introduction – Framing disability inclusion and the role of media in social change.

  2. Showcase – Presenting Inclusive Voices episodes as case studies, with examples of youth leadership, sign language accessibility, and cross-sector collaboration.

  3. Interactive Session – Participants share experiences, identify opportunities, and co-design ideas for disability-inclusive media.

  4. Action Planning – Collective discussion on how to implement media-based strategies in schools, communities, and organizations.
